The Hayesville High School Yellow Jacket baseball team has had an eventful season so far, with a mix of challenges and triumphs as they approach their upcoming game against Swain County on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. at home.

The season started with a tough stretch for the Yellow Jackets, as they dropped their first three games. On February 27, they fell 10-0 to Pisgah on the road, followed by a 4-1 loss at Towns County on March 4. The struggles continued at home against Union County on March 7, with a 7-2 defeat. However, the team turned a corner in early March, embarking on a five-game winning streak that showcased their resilience and potential.

The turnaround began on March 11 with an 11-1 victory over Andrews at home in a conference matchup, marking their first win of the season. The Yellow Jackets carried that momentum into their next game, defeating Towns County 16-6 at home on March 12 in a rematch. On March 14, they secured an 8-1 road win against Andrews in another conference game. The winning streak continued with a dominant 17-1 home victory over Hiwassee Dam on March 18, followed by a closer 12-8 road win against the same opponent on March 21, both conference contests.

As of now, Hayesville holds a 5-3 overall record, with a strong 4-0 mark in conference play. The team has shown significant improvement since their early season skid, outscoring opponents 64-17 during their five-game winning streak. With their next challenge against Swain County looming, the Yellow Jackets will look to maintain their conference dominance and continue building momentum at home on March 28.
