Undocumented Immigrant Arrested in Towns County Faces Deportation

A disturbance call in Towns County led to the arrest of 33-year-old Faustina Diaz Perez, an undocumented immigrant, on January 23, 2025. Deputies from the Towns County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Natures Way, where they took Perez into custody on multiple charges.


According to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office, Perez was charged with misdemeanor simple battery and three felony counts of obstruction of law enforcement. Following the arrest, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was contacted, and a hold was immediately placed on Perez.


Perez remained in custody at the Towns County Detention Center until February 15, 2025, when ICE agents took him into federal custody for deportation proceedings.


The Towns County Sheriff’s Office has reiterated its commitment to upholding local and federal laws and continues to work in cooperation with immigration authorities when necessary.


All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
