Donald Trump, 78, was inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States at the Capitol Rotunda yesterday, officially beginning his second nonconsecutive term. JD Vance, 40, became the third-youngest vice president in US history. Watch Trump's inaugural address here, or read the transcript here.

Trump's inauguration is the first to feature foreign leaders in attendance, including Argentine President Javier Milei, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, and Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni. Notable tech leaders, including Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg, also attended. Carrie Underwood sang "America the Beautiful," while opera tenor Christopher Macchio sang the national anthem. See photos here.

Trump also signed a round of executive orders, including suspending the US TikTok ban for 75 days, withdrawing from the Paris climate treaty again, and revoking 78 Biden-era executive actions. He also pardoned about 1,500 defendants charged in the Jan. 6, 2021, storming of the US Capitol and commuted six defendants' sentences. Learn how executive orders work here.

Separately, Joe Biden preemptively pardoned his family members, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and others, as his last act as president to guard them from potential politically motivated investigations.
