Tri-County Racetrack Delivers Thrilling Night of Racing in Brasstown

On Friday, April 18, 2025, the Tri-County Racetrack in Brasstown, North Carolina, came alive with an action-packed evening of dirt track racing. The event showcased multiple racing divisions, including 604 Crate Late Models, Street Stocks, Front Wheel Drives, Dirt Late Models, A Modifieds, 602 Crate Late Models, and Crown Vics, drawing competitors and fans to the iconic 1/4-mile clay oval for a night of high-speed competition.
In the 604 Crate Late Models division, Jacob Parris owned the 20-lap feature, starting from the pole after setting the fastest qualifying time of 13.414 seconds. Parris held off Jason Deal, who finished second, and Zane Littleton, who rounded out the podium. The eight-car field saw intense battles, though AJ Weeks was unable to start the main event.
The Street Stocks feature, a 15-lap race, saw Matt Whitener charge from fourth to claim victory, outpacing Dylan Hannah and pole-sitter Roger Beaver, who finished second and third, respectively. The nine-car field showcased tight racing, with Charles Devine and Tyrail Singleton securing top-five finishes.
In the Front Wheel Drives division, Phillip Hall emerged victorious in a 15-lap battle among 14 competitors. Starting fourth, Hall outran Michael Beeman and Chris Leitner, who finished second and third. The race saw some attrition, with Shannon Jones and Justin Beal retiring early, and Matt Murphy and Larry Patterson unable to start.
The Dirt Late Models 20-lap feature was led by Dante Curtis, who started on pole after a blistering 13.240-second qualifying lap. Curtis fended off Shawn Chastain and Greg Sudderth, who finished second and third, respectively. The 13-car field saw Daven Dilbeck and Brett Shook round out the top five, while James Nash made a notable charge from 13th to seventh.
Matt Sandefur took the win in the A Modifieds 15-lap feature, starting second and holding off David Pollen and Brawley Stillwell, who completed the podium. The nine-car race saw Gabe Wilson and Barry Anderson finish in the top five, showcasing the division’s competitive depth.
The 602 Crate Late Models feature, with 17 entries, was won by Bryson Hickman, who started on pole after a 13.964-second qualifying run. Hickman led Colton Berrong and Ricky Smith across the line, with Cooper Twiggs and Shannon Helton completing the top five. Several drivers, including John Snow and Dylan Beaver, were unable to start the 20-lap race.
Finally, in the Crown Vic division, Adam Phillips claimed victory in a 15-lap race among four competitors. Phillips, starting third, outran Conner Green and pole-sitter Richard Ames Jr., with Ricky Dyer finishing fourth.
