Following two days of action in the SEC Women’s Tennis Tournament first and second rounds, the No. 6 Georgia women’s tennis team is set to open up its first match of the tournament against No. 33 LSU on Friday, April 19 at 3 p.m. ET at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
The Bulldogs (17-4, 12-1 SEC) will begin their journey towards striving for back-to-back SEC Tournament titles, hosting the competition as the No. 1 seed after winning a share of the 2024 SEC regular season championship with a head-to-head advantage over No. 2 seed Texas A&M.
No. 8 seed LSU (15-9, 6-7 SEC) won their second-round matchup against No. 9 seed Arkansas on Thursday, winning by a score of 4-1.
The Bulldogs and the Tigers’ only meeting in 2024 saw Georgia complete a 4-0 sweep over LSU in Athens.
Georgia will look to repeat history in winning back-to-back titles for the first time since the Bulldogs’ SEC Tournament three-peat from 2007-09.
