The Hayesville Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball teams scored impressive Smoky Mountain Conference victories against the Swain County Lady Maroon Devils on Tuesday, August 28, in Bryson City.
The JV squad set the tone early, dominating in two straight sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-15. Their strong serves and solid teamwork kept the Lady Maroon Devils on their heels throughout the match, ensuring a swift and decisive win.
The Varsity team faced a tougher challenge but rose to the occasion with a resilient performance. After dropping the first set 25-17, the Lady Yellow Jackets regrouped and came back strong. They took the second set with a commanding 25-13 win, followed by a hard-fought 25-22 victory in the third set. The fourth set saw Hayesville maintain their momentum, closing out the match with a 25-20 win to secure the overall 3-1 victory.
With these crucial conference wins, both teams continue to build momentum as they prepare for their next challenge. Hayesville will travel to Cherokee on Thursday, August 29, to face the Lady Braves in what promises to be another exciting matchup.
