The Hayesville Yellow Jackets had a successful weekend on the hardwood, earning victories in back-to-back games against conference and non-conference opponents.


On Friday, January 24th, Hayesville traveled to Murphy for a Smoky Mountain Conference showdown against the Bulldogs. The first quarter saw both teams locked in a tight battle, with the score tied 18-18. Hayesville began to pull away in the second quarter, heading into halftime with a 30-23 lead. The Yellow Jackets extended their advantage in the third quarter, leading 47-34, and held on for a 62-54 victory.


Brady Reynolds led the scoring effort with 22 points, followed closely by Slade Crouch with 21 points. Jackson Sellers also made a significant contribution, adding 11 points to the scoreboard.


The next afternoon, Hayesville hosted the Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats and put on a dominant performance. The Yellow Jackets controlled the game from the opening tip and gave every player valuable minutes on the court. Hayesville cruised to an 83-25 win.

Brady Reynolds continued his impressive weekend with 17 points, while Riley Rogers chipped in 16 points. Brady Jones rounded out the scoring leaders with 13 points.


The Yellow Jackets will look to keep their momentum rolling when they host Swain County on Tuesday, January 28th, at 8 p.m. in another Smoky Mountain Conference matchup. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team as they aim to extend their winning streak.
