Hayesville Volleyball Struggles Against Franklin

The Hayesville Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball teams faced a tough challenge on Monday, August 19, as they hosted Franklin in a non-conference matchup. The evening saw competitive play across all levels, though it ultimately ended in losses for the home teams.


The evening began with Hayesville Middle School falling in two sets, 25-16 and 25-14.

Despite a strong effort, the young squad couldn’t overcome Franklin’s momentum.

The JV team showed resilience in their match, dropping the first set 25-20 but bouncing back with a decisive 25-15 victory in the second set. The deciding set was a close battle, but Franklin edged out the Lady Yellow Jackets 15-12, handing the JV team their first loss of the season.


Varsity followed with a hard-fought contest that stretched to four sets. After losing the first set 25-20, the Lady Yellow Jackets rallied to take the second set 25-18. However, Franklin regained control in the third and fourth sets, winning 25-20 and 25-18, respectively. The varsity loss marked the first defeat of the season for Hayesville.


Looking to bounce back, the Lady Yellow Jackets will travel to Pisgah today, August 20, where they will take on the Lady Bears in another challenging non-conference match.
