Hayesville got the game started with a kickoff to the Bulldogs. After forcing Murphy to punt, the kick hit a Yellow Jacket's foot then bounced into the hands of a Murphy player. That set Murphy up in the red zone. As has been the case most of the season, the Yellow Jacket defense stepped up, forcing a turnover on downs.

Lance Coker led Hayesville's offense to the line as quarterback in place of an injured Tate Roberts. The Yellow Jackets were able move the ball, picking up three first downs before ultimately turning the ball over on downs.

Quarter two began with the Jackets going for it on fourth and one inside their own 30-yard line. Coker kept the ball and converted, keeping the drive alive. Coker looked deep and let a pass fly. It was snagged by a Bulldog and rand into the end zone for another Murphy touchdown. The PAT was good, extending Murphy's lead to 14-0 with 10:29 left in the first half.

Hayesville's offensive struggles continued on the next possession as Murphy snared another pass from Coker for an interception. The Bulldogs capitalized with a 14-yard touchdown run. The Bulldogs tried for a 2-point conversion, but the Jackets held strong. With 7:28 remaining in the second quarter, Murphy led 20-0.

The bleeding continued for the Jackets as Murphy recovered a fumble and ran it all the way to the end zone for a touchdown. The PAT was good and with 6:26 left before the half, the Bulldogs led 27-0. The score remained unchanged through the remainder of the quarter.
