Hayesville Lady Yellow Jackets Sweep Robbinsville in SMC Match-ups

On Thursday, October 3, the Hayesville Lady Yellow Jackets traveled to Robbinsville for a pair of Smoky Mountain Conference volleyball match-ups against the Robbinsville Lady Black Knights. Both JV and varsity teams continued their impressive seasons with solid performances.

In the JV game, Hayesville claimed a victory in two sets. The Lady Yellow Jackets secured the first set 25-21 and showed even greater control in the second, winning 25-16.

The varsity match saw Hayesville take an early lead, winning the first two sets with authority. They claimed the first set 25-16, followed by a commanding 25-12 win in the second set.

Robbinsville responded in the third set, taking it 25-18. However, Hayesville rebounded quickly, closing out the match with a 25-18 victory in the fourth set, giving them a 3-1 win.

The Lady Yellow Jackets now turn their focus to Saturday, October 5, when they host Swain County for their highly anticipated Orange & Pink Out game. This special event will raise money for Rhett Lovingood, a local boy fighting leukemia, and provide aid to victims of Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. The middle school match will begin at 11 a.m., followed by JV at noon, and varsity at 1 p.m.

Hayesville’s volleyball program continues to demonstrate excellence on the court while supporting meaningful causes off it.
