The Hayesville Lady Yellow Jackets delighted their home crowd on Saturday, December 20th, with a decisive 38-29 victory over the Towns County Lady Indians in a hard-fought high game. The win served as sweet revenge for Hayesville, who fell to Towns County in their season opener.


The Lady Jackets came out strong, taking a 9-5 lead in the first quarter. They extended their advantage to 17-7 by halftime, showcasing disciplined defense and efficient scoring. Towns County made a push in the third quarter, narrowing the gap to 22-17, but Hayesville held firm in the final period, sealing the game with a nine-point margin.


Ava Shook led the charge for Hayesville, scoring an impressive 17 points. Emma Ashe contributed 7 points, Mallory Peck added 5, and Briley Clampitt chipped in 4 to round out the team’s offensive leaders.


The victory evens Hayesville’s record at 3-3 as they head into the Christmas break, offering a morale boost and momentum for the remainder of the season.


“It wasn't pretty, but it's a win," said head coach Chad McClure after the game.


The Lady Yellow Jackets will resume play after the holiday break, participating in the Battle of the States tournament hosted by Towns County.
