The Hayesville JV Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball team punched their ticket to the Smoky Mountain Conference (SMC) championship match after a commanding victory over Andrews in the tournament semifinals on Monday, October 14th. The Lady Jackets cruised past Andrews in straight sets, winning 25-12 and 25-10 at Cherokee High School.

Hayesville’s dominant performance showcased their resilience and determination, with strong serving and consistent defense playing a key role in their victory. The Lady Yellow Jackets kept Andrews off balance throughout the match, allowing little opportunity for their opponent to build any momentum.

With this win, Hayesville secures a spot in Thursday’s championship match, where they will face a familiar foe — the Murphy Bulldogs. Murphy is the only SMC team to have defeated Hayesville’s JV squad over the past three seasons. The two teams have met twice this season, with Hayesville falling short in both matches.

Thursday's championship match at Cherokee High School promises to be a high-stakes showdown as Hayesville looks to avenge those losses and reclaim their place at the top of the conference.

First serve for the SMC championship match between Hayesville and Murphy is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, October 17th at Cherokee High School.
