Get ready to experience the magic of metal and the heat of the forge at the Forge After Dark event on Friday, November 1, from 6 p.m. to midnight at the John C. Campbell Folk School. This unique nighttime gathering is a celebration of blacksmithing, offering a rare opportunity to witness master blacksmiths at work while enjoying a lively array of family-friendly activities.
Forge After Dark will feature live blacksmithing demonstrations where visitors can watch skilled artisans shape metal into incredible works of art. For those looking to try their hand at a bit of old-world craft, there’s also an axe-throwing station. Axe Daddy is set to provide everything you need to test your throwing skills in a safe, fun environment.
The event also promises a culinary treat with the mouth-watering BBQ from Dragon Ass BBQ and sweet, crunchy kettle corn by Jerrie’s Kettle Corn. If you’re in the mood for something warm, hot chocolate and cider will be available to keep you cozy as the night unfolds.
Music will fill the air, thanks to a live performance by the Black Sea Beat Society, adding to the evening's festive atmosphere. A photo booth will be on site, perfect for capturing memories of this exciting night with family and friends.
In addition to the demos and food, attendees can purchase raffle tickets and get a sneak peek at items being prepared for a spirited afternoon auction. With something for everyone, Forge After Dark is set to be an enchanting evening of artistry, food, music, and community fun.
