Residents of Clarence Nichols and West Union Road have taken a significant step toward enhancing community safety by officially establishing a neighborhood watch program, the Towns County Sheriff's Office announced. The initiative, driven by local residents committed to the wellbeing of their community, marks the latest effort in fostering community policing in the area.

Last week, Sheriff Ken Henderson met with residents from these neighborhoods to discuss the formation of the neighborhood watch. Following productive discussions, the program was successfully launched today. Sheriff Henderson has consistently emphasized the value of community policing and public awareness, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in maintaining safe neighborhoods.

The Towns County Sheriff's Office encourages other communities to consider similar programs. Residents interested in starting a neighborhood watch or seeking more information are invited to contact Tabitha Sellers at 706-896-4444.
