CCThe Clay County Communities Revitalization Association, or CCCRA, has announced an exciting new project aimed at boosting tourism and business in Clay County. Since its founding in 1998, the nonprofit organization has worked tirelessly to preserve the heritage, promote the assets, and stimulate the economy of the area.
From expanding the Jack Rabbit Trail to restoring the Historic Courthouse and creating the Quanassee Path, CCCRA’s projects have helped bring visitors to the region and businesses to downtown Hayesville.
Now, they’re taking on a brand-new venture. The CCCRA has purchased the historic McGlamery Hotel and Cafe building, located at the corner of Herbert Street and Business 64, across from Nocturnal. Plans are underway to fully restore the building and repurpose it as retail space, with construction expected to begin in early 2025.
This latest initiative is made possible by a restricted donation from Clay County native Ron Beal. CCCRA says they’re honored to breathe new life into such a historic piece of Hayesville’s past, continuing their mission to revitalize the community.
