On Thursday, February 6, 2024 the Clay County Board of Commissioners executed a Special Warranty Deed for the transfer of real property to Amazon.com LLC, a Delaware limited liability corporation for the amount of $591,180.00. The 19.706 acres is located at 1115 McDonald Road. The sale officially closed on Monday February 10th.
As noted in a resolution dated August 27, 2024, the Clay County Board of Commissioners gave Debbie Mauney, County Manager, the authority to negotiate, enter into and execute the sale of the land at the Clay County Industrial Park to JB2 Partners to build a warehouse and distribution center. Prior to that resolution, a Public Hearing regarding the potential sale of the property was held on August 20, 2024.
Since those initial dates, a tremendous amount of time and energy has gone into finalizing this deal. The Clay County Board of Commissioners is excited to work with Amazon and is thankful for the large investment they will be making in Clay County and the subsequent job creation that comes with it.
